PIX is about investigating and engaging with broad and expansive fields of contemporary photographic practice in India and South Asia: its movement, transmission, appropriation and distinct relation to the allied arts.


Myanmar elected a new government on November 8, 2015, forging a path to liberalism, following the National League for Democracy’s (NLD) landslide victory.

It was our intention to mark such heady times with emerging personal histories, documentary practices and artistic inquiries through photography. The following issue presents countrywide projects at a time of complex political negotiations.
